The Canton Bulldogs opened up the playoffs at the Ice House where they took on the Taunton Tigers. The Tigers took out North Attleboro 2-1 to set a date with the Bulldogs on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs put the pressure on right from the first drop of the puck, and the Taunton goaltender was very busy all night long. Eventually, Chris Lavoie and Johnny Hagan executed a perfect give and go connection to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room. In the second period, it was Shane Marshall who got the crowd off their seats when he tucked in the puck out front. Lavoie would score his second goal on a breakaway after a pass from Eamon Kelly snuck by the two Taunton defenders. Lavoie continued to give the goalie nightmares as he scored his hat-trick goal right on the doorstep of the crease from his backhand. That was more than enough to get the victory as Joe Cammarata was lights out and sharpened up for his first career playoff win. From the banging on the bench as the puck was about to drop at center ice to the intensity of the crowd you could tell the Bulldogs were more pumped, excited, and confident than their opponent. Canton will take on the Medfield Warriors at the Ice House on Saturday in Round 2.
