Bulldogs Top King Phillip, OA

The Bulldogs opened up a three game homestand against King Philip Saturday evening. Coming in at 6-2-1, KP has always been a tough opponent for the Bulldogs. From start to finish the Bulldog’s pace was much different than their last recent games. Canton came out with intensity and wanted to prove that they were the better team. The Bulldogs would go up 1-0 in the first after Shane Marshall buried a rebound goal. The play was set up by Ronan O’Mahony when he hit Eamon Kelly with a pass across the neutral zone, then Kelly used his speed and took the puck hard to the net where Marshall was there to score on the second attempt. Just minutes into the second KP tied the game, but the Bulldogs answered quickly as this one came off the stick of Eamon Kelly after he redirected a pass from Owen Lehane in the slot. Joe Cammarata was lights out after his teammates rallied behind him scoring five goals in the contest. John Hagan buried one shorthanded, Marshall and Kelly both got their second goal of the game and the Bulldogs went on to get a well deserved victory 5-2 was the final.

Coming off a big win, the Bulldogs had a lot of momentum coming into this game at their own rink. The barn was packed as many of the community came out to support the boys as they had the intentions of keeping the train moving and winning another game. The atmosphere felt like nothing was going to stop this team from winning and that's exactly what happened. Canton ran right through Oliver Ames with a 6-0 victory. The whole team played a big role in the game as many of the younger players got multiple opportunities in the spotlight. Joe Cammarata stood tall for the first two periods and Liam Polles came in to close the door and preserve the shutout for the goalies. Canton’s goals came from Chris Lavoie (2), John Hagan, TJ McCabe, Shane Marshall, and Tommy Vaughan. Shane Marshall and John Hagan continue their hot streaks and TJ McCabe and Tom Vaughan get on the scoresheet after hard working shifts. The Bulldogs next game is at home against Foxboro as they look to continue their win streak.
